Definition of the TYPO3 page type SysFolder, a storage location for various types of data records.

A SysFolder is a special page type of the TYPO3 system. The main purpose of SysFolders is to store database records of various kind.

Pages of this type can not be displayed on a web site but only in the page tree of the backend. You can identify SysFolder pages by a little folder icon next to the name of the SysFolder.

A SysFolder can contain different types of data records: addresses, frontend and backend users, usergroups, tt_news records and categories, products, and many more.

SysFolder pages are stored in the pages database table with the internal page type ID 254.

Normally, an editor accesses the contents of a SysFolder by using the TYPO3 List module.
